    Live implant placement course

    Star Dental Institute is a postdoctoral live surgery dental implant training facility. Qualified dentists can expect to place 4 to 8 implants per day with 
    live hands-on surgery experience and 24 CE credit hours. 
    Class limited to 10 doctors.

    Course schedule
    Day 1 
    7:00 a.m. Registration
    8:00 a.m. Review NobelActive® implants, surgical kit, and console setup
    – Review patient selection criteria
    – Review basic surgical techniques
    8:30 a.m. View/Discuss preop CBCT’s for today’s patients
    9:30 a.m. Begin surgical cases
    12:00 p.m. Working lunch
    3:00 p.m. Q & A

    Day 2 
    7:30 a.m. Meet/Greet
    8:00 a.m. Q & A 
    8:15 a.m. Break into teams to treatment plan each patient for the morning
    9:00 a.m. Participant cases begin – LIVE SURGERY
    12:00 p.m. Working lunch
    1:00 p.m. Break into teams to treatment plan each patient for the afternoon 
    2:00 p.m. Participant cases begin – LIVE SURGERY

    Course objectives
    – Treatment planning using CBCT technology
    – Implant placement in the edentulous arch
    – Basic surgical protocol for overdenture implant patient

    Course applicant requirements
    Applicants should be licensed, insured, and have a current full-privileged dental license from any US state. A Colorado-issued temporary license shall be obtained through Star Dental Implant Training and the Department of Regulated Agencies (DORA) Colorado. Applicants must have malpractice insurance such that would cover them during their training at Star Dental Institute. Star Dental Institute shall provide the patients, assistants to work with each doctor, physical plant, and consumables. Drs. Gary and Kevin Moore will follow all patients for post-operative issues.

    Course prerequisites
    Each potential participant must qualify for the course through their local Nobel Biocare Representative, who will facilitate a 2-hour program where the participant will review:
    – Terminology 
    – The surgical kit
    – Basic anatomy
    – Medical comorbidities
    – Introduction to NobelClinician® Software/CBCT
    – Basic rules of successful implant placement
    Participant will also attend a lab session of placing dummy implants to become familiar with the basic placement protocol.
