Saying no to analogue dentistry? - delivered by Andrew Dawood

No matter how enthusiastic or reluctant you are to embrace new technology, 'digital workflows' are permeating through to the dental surgery and are rapidly becoming ever increasingly important in the laboratory. How will this affect us – and how will it affect our patients? Are all these digital dental innovations positive, and when should we adopt this technology in our own practices? These are some of the questions Andrew will attempt to answer.

    Objectives:
    1. Be aware of new digital technologies in the surgery
    2. Discuss some of the digital technologies which may be used in the dental laboratory for the manufacture of our patient’s restorations
    3. Illustrate some of the mechanical and biological benefits and complications which may result from the inappropriate use of laboratory-selected components
