  • Course overview

    This two day course will provide the delegates with an introduction to the concepts of restoring implants in a commercial laboratory. The course will be both theoretical and practical with hands-on training.
     
    Aims;
    To introduce the concepts of restoring implants in a commercial laboratory. Each delegate will be able to perform the following tasks upon completion of the course:
    • Gain skills in manufacturing implant models with soft tissue mask
    • Understand the concept of Engaging & Non-engaging components / open & closed impression techniques / implant & abutment level restorative options
    • Gain skills in manufacturing single screw-retained temporary restorations
    • Gain skills in manufacturing a resin verification jig and understand the concept behind impression verification.
    • Gain a basic insight into scanning a single angulated screw chanel abutment using NobelDesign software.
    • Gain an appreciation of soft tissue considerations for the final restoration and how to enhance aesthetics.
    • Learn ceramic build-up techniques for veneering directly onto a screw-retained zirconia abutment.

    Saturday – introducing implant theory, with hands on components, model casting, single screw-retained temporary crown and verification jig manufacture. Observing an angulated screw chanel abutment designed in NobelDesign software.
    Sunday – concepts of zirconia framework staining, with hands on direct ceramic veneering of a Nobel Biocare angulated screw chanel abutment. Detailing soft tissue considerations, shade taking and build up techniques
     
    All candidates will leave with completed examples of the work they have produced during the course.
