    The impact of the dental assistant on the success of implant treatments is substantial. This program highlights the
    surgical assistant’s role during implant procedures.
    Surgical assistants will learn how to prepare for implant surgery including correct gowning and gloving procedures,
    draping protocols and pre and post operative patient management throughout the course of implant treatment.
    Assistants will also learn how to use and maintain Nobel Biocare’s surgical components.

    By completing this program, the dental professional will
    understand the following:

    • Implant treatment concepts and benefits
    • How to explain the benefits of implant treatment to
    patients
    • How to prepare instruments and equipment prior to
    treatment
    • The importance of following infection control procedures
    • Preparation of a sterile environment
    • Cleaning and sterilisation of instruments and equipment
    • How to explain post operative care techniques to the
    patient
    • How to effectively manage inventory including ordering
    and exchange procedures
