Course Overview

One of Australia’s most respected and longest running implant surgical programs, the Brånemark Center program is presented by an experienced multidisciplinary team of specialists. All aspects of osseointegration, patient selection, diagnostic imaging, surgical anatomy and the surgical procedures will be covered to give delegates comprehensive knowledge to successfully treatment plan and place their first implant under faculty supervision and guidance. Hands-on training sessions include treatment planning with DTX StudioTM, model surgery, instrumentation management and sterile set-up for clinician and the auxiliary team.
To ensure a quality experience, this program is limited to 6 participants and their dental assistants. Each delegate is required to bring their own patient for surgically treating simple single unit implants in healed sites.

Glen Liddelow

Dr Glen Liddelow completed his Bachelors Degree in Dental Science and Masters in Clinical Science from the University of Western Australia followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the University of Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr Liddelow is a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the Australasian Osseointegration Society and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr Liddelow is a prosthodontist primarily concerned with both the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. He is a consultant prosthodontist at Princess Margaret Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and the University of Western Australia Oral Health Centre. Dr Liddelow has lectured widely both nationally and internationally. His research and publications include immediate loading, surface technology and implant aesthetics.

Graham Carmichael

Dr Graham Carmichael is a faculty member of the Brånemark Center in West Perth and has completed a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Sydney. He graduated from the University of Western Australia School of Dentistry with Honours and is a Fellow by examination with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He also has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Australia with a double major in Antomy and Biochemistry. As well as maintaining his private practice, he is a visiting lecturer at the University of Western Australia and a consultant at Princess Margaret Hospital. He is a committee member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, and a member of numerous dental societies. He has lectured nationally and internationally, and is actively involved in the teaching and education of surgical and prosthetic implant therapy. His research interests include immediate placement and loading, influence of prosthesis design on treatment outcomes, and patients’ response to implant treatment.

Brent Allan

Dr Allan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1982 and obtained a Masters of Dental Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Western Australia in 1991. His private clinical practice, which specialises in oral and maxillofacial surgery, opened in Perth in 1993. Present appointments include consulting for the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Deformity at the University of Western Australia. In 1997 he was awarded the Medical and Optical Martin Travel Scholarship. Areas of special surgical interest include advanced surgical implant techniques and orthognathic surgery. Dr Allan lectures and conducts advanced surgical implant training programs in Australia, New Zealand and North America.
