Course Overview

The replacement of a missing tooth with a dental implant can be considered to be a minimally invasive procedure. 
This full day hands-on course will introduce participants to dental implants from an evidence based perspective, and teach how to restore a single implant. The course covers all aspects of treatment planning, materials and the techniques needed to restore an implant and integrate implant dentistry into daily practice. The hands-on exercises will allow the participant to become familiar with the clinical components and tools required as they take impressions and learn how to insert the implant crown.

Glen Liddelow

Dr Glen Liddelow completed his Bachelors Degree in Dental Science and Masters in Clinical Science from the University of Western Australia followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the University of Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr Liddelow is a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the Australasian Osseointegration Society and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr Liddelow is a prosthodontist primarily concerned with both the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. He is a consultant prosthodontist at Princess Margaret Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and the University of Western Australia Oral Health Centre. Dr Liddelow has lectured widely both nationally and internationally. His research and publications include immediate loading, surface technology and implant aesthetics.

Graham Carmichael

Dr Graham Carmichael is a faculty member of the Brånemark Center in West Perth and has completed a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Sydney. He graduated from the University of Western Australia School of Dentistry with Honours and is a Fellow by examination with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He also has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Australia with a double major in Antomy and Biochemistry. As well as maintaining his private practice, he is a visiting lecturer at the University of Western Australia and a consultant at Princess Margaret Hospital. He is a committee member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, and a member of numerous dental societies. He has lectured nationally and internationally, and is actively involved in the teaching and education of surgical and prosthetic implant therapy. His research interests include immediate placement and loading, influence of prosthesis design on treatment outcomes, and patients’ response to implant treatment.
